This past weekend, the latest Protech Elite Series unfolded at the renowned Ken Kay Badminton Stadium in Ballarat, showcasing top-tier badminton talent.
While the ABL Club Championship is not endorsed by Badminton Victoria, we continue to extend an open invitation to their clubs to participate in the upcoming Club Championship in Sydney, scheduled for November 2025. We believe in uniting clubs across the nation and fostering greater badminton participation.
A Tournament for Open Grade Players
The Protech Elite Series is exclusively designed for open-grade players, meaning graded players were not included in the updated Round 2 standings. One of the standout aspects of this event was the presence of interstate competitors, with players from NSW-based clubs such as Elite Badminton Academy and Roketto making a strong impact.
It is important to note that ranking points are awarded based on tournament software entries, rather than the club shirts worn on the podium. This ensures a fair and transparent ranking system that accurately reflects performance and participation.
PBA’s Outstanding Performance & Major Ranking Shifts
PBA from Melbourne delivered an exceptional performance, earning a remarkable 13,270 points from last weekend’s event. This impressive feat propelled them from #6 to #3 in the standings, marking a significant leap in a silver-level tournament—an amazing effort from the team!
Additionally, Elite Badminton Academy from NSW also saw a notable rise, moving up from #9 to #5 in the Round 2 rankings. Their dedication and effort continue to showcase the high level of competition within the Protech Elite Series.
